Only one player can fill a class role in a given match, and AI-controlled squaddies take over when the player count is less than four. Keep it together. There are four soldier classes to field in each Intercept match: Assault, Marksman, Medic, and Tactician. Victory is a matter of reaching a host-determined point total, through both combat and keeping a hold on beacons. In functional terms, each match amounts to a mission, with the player-controlled VSA squaddies working together to maintain control of three beacons - labeled A, B, and C - as Helghast forces, managed by an AI “Commander” (not unlike Left 4 Dead‘s Director) pour in from all sides. The intel troops are operating behind enemy lines on a mission to steal vital information from the Helghast and then transmit it back using a series of hacked comm beacons.
The premise sees four players taking control of the same Vektan Security Agency (VSA) squad encountered in the main game.

Story serves primarily as a framing device for Intercept, which finds its closest comparison with the sort of wave-based survival modes that pop up in modern shooters. There's no detail on how big these chunks might be, too, or what happens if you have a criminally slow internet connection.We spent s good chunk of time playing Intercept at a recent Sony event, and the overall impression is positive. What sort of constraints? Well, downloading individual levels for a linear shooter like Killzone: Shadow Fall would logically be easier than downloading the entire map of an open world game, and may allow you to start playing earlier. "There are some technical constraints goals related to this feature," CD Projekt boss Adam Badowski told Eurogamer, "but nothing extraordinary." The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red also previously discussed the feature's inclusion for the PlayStation 4 version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. "You're going to download a chunk of the game, get the menu and first level, and while you're playing the first level we can start downloading the second in the background," Killzone developer Guerrilla's technical director Michiel van der Leeuw explained in a new developer diary (thanks, OPM).
Sony previously mentioned that you'll be able to play PlayStation 4 games while they're downloading, but this is the first time we've heard more specific details on how little you'll need to have on your hard drive.
